​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Every year, the SADC-RTGS Operator and the SADC Payment Scheme Management Body (PSMB) jointly bring together SADC-RTGS users in various payment schemes and other stakeholders at the SADC-RTGS User Group Conference.

The sixth edition of the User Group Conference, under the theme ‘Embracing new frontiers in the SADC-RTGS community’, will be hosted by the Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) at the CBE Compass in Ezulwini, Eswatini, from 17 to 18 September 2025.

During the Conference, the SADC-RTGS users engage with the SADC Payment System Oversight Committee (PSOC) and SADC-RTGS Operator to discuss matters related to the SADC-RTGS system and the payment ecosystem in general. The aim is to enhance cross-border payments and deepen collaboration across the payment landscape in the SADC region.

The User Group Conference is held in different SADC countries to broaden the level of participation by local stakeholders and users.

The Conference brings together expert speakers from across the region. This year, topics for discussion include the cross-border payment challenges faced by participants, payment system modernisation in SADC and the implementation of SADC currencies for settlement in the system.
