History:
Banco de Moçambique, was established on 17 May 1975, conducting both commercial and central bank operations. However, as a result of the financial sector reforms, in 1992 the Government decided to split the two functions, creating for commercial aims the Banco Comercial de Moçambique, now integrated on group BIM, the major commercial bank in the country.
